Learn how to create user-friendly output reports by formatting extract results using BI Publisher templates and integration.

🔷 Output Formatting Options

  • CSV/XML: Default structure from Extracts

  • RTF/PDF: Requires BI Publisher Template

  • Excel/HTML: Available via bursting or format transformation

🔷 Steps to Format Output with BI Publisher

Step 1: Generate Sample XML

  • Run the extract to generate the output XML

  • Use this file to build your BI Publisher template

Step 2: Design the Template (RTF)

  • Use Microsoft Word + BI Publisher Plugin

  • Insert data fields using the Data Source pane

  • Style using tables, fonts, colors

Step 3: Upload Template

  • Go to: Tools → Reports and Analytics → BI Publisher

  • Create a new Data Model

  • Upload the RTF as the layout template

Step 4: Link Template to Extract

  • In Extract Delivery Options, choose "BI Publisher"

  • Select the Data Model and Layout
